What Is Asclera®?
Asclera® (polidocanol) is a prescription sclerotherapy medication specifically designed to treat two kinds of unwanted leg veins: spider veins (the very small, web-like veins ≤1 mm) and small reticular veins (1–3 mm). It's administered through a series of tiny injections directly into the targeted veins. Asclera® is well regarded as a comfortable, modern sclerosing agent—often chosen over older solutions because it tends to cause less discomfort during injection. As with any vein treatment, a consultation is an important first step to confirm your veins are well suited to sclerotherapy.
How Asclera® Works
Gentle Science, Clearer Skin
Asclera® works through a process called sclerotherapy. When injected into a targeted vein, the solution gently irritates the vein's inner lining, causing it to close and seal. Once that vein is closed, blood is naturally rerouted to healthy veins nearby, and over the following weeks your body gradually absorbs the treated vein—so it fades from view. The result is a smoother, more even appearance, achieved without surgery and with minimal disruption to your day. Because results develop progressively, your provider may recommend more than one session depending on the number and size of the veins being treated.
What to Expect
Step 1 - Consultation & Assessment Every Asclera® journey begins with a thorough consultation. Your provider will examine the veins you'd like treated, review your health history, and confirm whether sclerotherapy is the right approach—or whether further evaluation of underlying vein health is warranted first.
Step 2 — Your Personalized Plan
Under the expert medical oversight of Ashley Sutton, FNP, MSN, we'll map out how many sessions you may need based on the size and number of veins, so your results develop naturally over time.
Step 3 — Treatment Day
Using a very fine needle, your provider injects Asclera® directly into the targeted veins. The treatment is quick, and most clients tolerate it very well. You may be fitted with compression stockings afterward to support your results.
Step 4 — Aftercare & Fading
You'll be encouraged to walk and stay active, and to wear compression as directed. Over the following weeks, the treated veins gradually fade. We'll provide complete, personalized aftercare guidance and support you through every follow-up.
